Setting up a competitive company is like preparing a
racing bike: there is always something else you can do to make it even better.
After all these years in the business, we strive to
improve our performance every single day.
This is why we established our own Design Center,
working exclusively for Polisport and its clients.
It is also why we started producing our own molds,
giving us greater control over cost and quality.
For the same reasons, we have expanded our injection
plant so as to keep the entire process in-house, giving us full control over
the results of the manufacturing cycle.
DEDICATED TEAM
Our focus on high-quality service is one of the Polisport
Group’s core values, representing real added value for the customer.
All OEM and/or private label projects have a dedicated
team in the Polisport corporate structure.
Polisport’s project management exclusively allocates:
·
a
dedicated salesperson, who manages all communication with the customer
·
a
project manager, who actively collaborates with the customer to find the best
technical solutions for the project.
·
a
logistics account specialist, who finds the best solutions for customer
delivery requirements.
Polisport also has an innovation department which, besides
surveying problems and identifying potential solutions, is in charge of
research and development for new technologies and materials and registration of
patents. The wealth of internal know-how available to us is always placed at
the customer’s service in accordance with the requirements of the project at
hand.
Relationship with technological partners
With a view to innovation, Polisport engages in systematic
cooperation with external bodies.
This cooperation includes partnerships with domestic
and foreign suppliers for RDI (Research, Development and Innovation) activities,
including design, mold manufacture and prototyping.
We have cooperation and subcontracting agreements with
Universities, Technology Centers and other organizations in the field of science
and technology, including the University of Aveiro, University of Beira
Interior (UBI), the Center for Excellence and Innovation in the Automotive
Industry (CEIIA) and the Center for Innovation in Polymer Engineering (PIEP).
Polisport is now also a part of the COTEC network of SMEs.
Polisport is a member of the technical committee of the
In-mold Decorating Association (IMDA), a US-based network of companies.
Our extensive network of strategic partnerships allows
us to obtain the best technical solutions for your project.
DESIGN CENTER
The Polisport Group recently formed a product design
group and a prototyping center.
In addition to what has already been said about the
importance of mold manufacturing, it is important to mention that our response times
and the ease with which we are able to create new products have greatly
benefited from this step. Indeed, the core design group and prototyping center
were practically indispensable to us as a company seeking to maintain and
strengthen its innovative character. Our internal design and 3D modeling
department, combined with our prototyping facilities, allow us to research and
test new ideas and product concepts in a streamlined and efficient manner.
As a result, we can offer customers:
·
Co-design;
·
Internal
capacity to develop complex parts such as double injection pieces;
·
Preparation
of technical molds (use of inserts, double injections, etc.)
INJECTION PLANT
Acquired in 2004, Polinter is the group company
dedicated to plastic injection. It is where some of the parts of the Polisport
brand, as well as parts for the group’s customers, are produced.
It is also where Polisport’s unique technological
solutions are developed, tested and applied.
Polinter is able to work with a range of special
procedures:
·
Injection
·
IPD
(Inmold plastic decals)
·
IML
(Inmold)
·
PD+
·
Over-injection
·
Blow
molding
Internal capacity of Polinter’s infrastructure:
• Clamping force: from 150 to 1,000 Tons
• Injection capacity: from 20 to 3,500 grams
• Annual capacity in injection hours: ~ 68,000 hours
• All machines operate with "SEPRO" or
"KUKA" 6-axle Cartesian Robots.
• All machines are equipped with gravimetric or
volumetric dosing devices
• Next-generation automation with great responsiveness
to demand from OEM projects;
• Injection machines of different tonnage able to
inject various part types;
MOLD PLANT
Polisport Molds was established in 2011, and as the
name implies is dedicated to the production and maintenance of molds used in
the plastic injection process. With this company, we guarantee:
·
The
ability to design projects and build small, medium and large molds;
·
High
performance with regard to corrective maintenance and/or changes requested by
the customer;
·
Greater
capacity to comply with lead times required by customers
The addition of these two companies to the Group was
essential in that it allowed Polisport control of the entire process, from
product design to final production.
The benefits of centralizing the production cycle in
this way are evident with regard to quality control, management of production
costs and timing for completion of projects.
What is more, integrated management of the production
process permits the implementation of modern and innovative working methods
that were not always available to suppliers and partners in the past.
QUALITY TEST CENTER
Quality control, performance analysis and safety tests
are the most important aspects of product development.
The legal requirements are stringent and industry
standards are high.
In order to remain one step ahead, we have built our
own modern quality control center with all the technology required to ensure
that our products comply with the standards imposed by regulatory bodies.
What is more, having our own quality control center
means we can continue to develop and test innovative solutions for our
products.
Quality Management System
Polisport’s Quality Management System is certified in
accordance with EN ISO 9001:2008: Design and production of innovative products
for two-wheeled vehicles, ensuring performance combined with safety,
differentiation and enjoyment.
ISO provides internationally recognized frameworks and
standards for organizations in the areas of products, services and systems. ISO
aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the
system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the
assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory
requirements.
Management System for Research, Development &
Innovation
Innovation is one of Polisport’s core values,
underpinning a clear focus on the development of new technologies and
innovative products.
In 2011, Polisport’s Innovation Management System was
certified according to standard NP 4457: 2007.
