PRODUCTS - HELMETS
Can I paint or modify my helmet?
Polisport does not recommend that paints or solvents of any kind be used on helmets as they can cause damage and significantly reduce the helmet's protective properties. You should not under any circumstances remove or modify any components that are part of this product. Such practice, besides representing a serious risk to the safety of the user, will nullify all Polisport guarantees.Do Polisport helmets comply with relevant standards?
Polisport helmets are tested and approved according to European Norm EN 1078:2012 - "Helmets for pedal cyclists and for users of skateboards and roller skates." They are designed only for the purposes mentioned above and, in particular, must not be used in motor sports or when riding motorcycles. How do I clean and maintain my helmet?
After each use, allow the helmet to air dry and then store it in a cool, dry place where it won't get damaged. Note that excessive heat can damage your helmet. For example, in direct sunlight a dark gear bag, the interior of a car, or an automobile trunk can get hot enough to cause heat damage (damaged helmets will appear to have uneven or bubbly surfaces). Therefore, when not being used for a period of time we recommend that the helmet to be placed back into its box or case and stored in a cool, dry place. The maximum temperature that the helmet may be exposed to is 50?C (112?F); The helmet must be cleaned only with water and a soft cloth. The use or application of sprays or cleaning agents, chemical substances (including ammonia) and solvents, may result in the degradation of the characteristics of the helmet (and in the loss of the guarantee). How do I fit my helmet?
The helmet must be adapted to the user's head. Select the right helmet by trying on several sizes, and choose the size that feels most comfortable and secure according to the form and structure of the head. Start by putting the helmet on your head in such a way that the front and back of the helmet are at the same level and parallel to the floor. When the helmet is fitted perpendicularly to your head, the front and rear straps must be at the same level (check level of the passers - located immediately under your ears). If the belts are not at the same level, they may be adjusted by pulling them through the rear of the helmet. To adjust the length of the belts, slide the belt that needs to be adjusted, up or down, until it reaches the correct position. Any slack can be taken up using the buckle. Attention 1. The straps must not cover your ears; 2. The buckle must be away from the chin bone; 3. The ends of the straps must be fastened to the rubber rings; To ensure that the straps are correctly adjusted, try to remove the helmet from the front and from the back of the head. If it slides to the front, adjust the rear straps. If it slides to the back, adjust the front straps. Adjust the interior diameter of your helmet using the adaptor in your helmet. Start by opening the adaptor system, put the helmet on your head and close and adjust the system. To ensure that the system is correctly adjusted, shake your head slightly with the retention system open - the helmet should not fall from your head. How do I make sure my bike helmet fits properly?
To work properly, a bike helmet must fit correctly and be worn properly. Sizing your helmet In order to determine the size you need, you need to measure the circumference of your head. Simply wrap a measuring tape around your head, being sure to locate the tape just above your ears and keeping the tape level front to back. Once you've determined the proper size, you can check to make sure the helmet fits correctly. If the helmet you own now doesn't fit on your head with just a little space between your head and the headband when the fit system is loose, you should replace it with one that does. You should always wear the helmet positioned low enough in the front to protect your forehead, but not so low as to hinder your vision. How do I store my helmet?
After each use, allow the helmet to air dry and then store it in a cool, dry place where it won't get damaged. Note that excessive heat can damage your helmet. For example, in direct sunlight a dark gear bag, the interior of a car, or an automobile trunk can get hot enough to cause heat damage (damaged helmets will appear to have uneven or bubbly surfaces). Therefore, when not being used for a period of time we recommend that the helmet be placed back into its box or case and stored in a cool, dry place. How does the warranty on my helmet work?
Polisport guarantees the original purchase if the product is free from defects for a period of three years from the date of the original purchase. This guarantee does not apply to physical defects caused by incorrect use, negligence, bad repair, bad adaptation, alterations or uses not foreseen by the manufacturer. Any helmet subjected to an impact must be disposed of and replaced even if it does not show any visible damage as its absorption capacity might have been been diminished. In any case, helmets must be replaced at the end of three years from the date of production or when they no longer fit. What do I do if my helmet becomes damaged?
If the helmet is visibly damaged (cracked outer shell, crushed or cracked foam liner or any other damage) do not use it.Some or all of the helmet's protective capacity is lost after any impact, and the damage to a helmet is not always visible. Will the helmet save my life?
No helmet can protect the user against all possible accidents (including those involving bicycle collisions with motor vehicles).Even accidents at low speed may result in serious injuries to the head or even death. The helmets are designed to protect the head and reduce the risk of cervical or backbone injuries and any other physical injuries resulting from an accident; please obey all traffic rules in order to reduce the risk of accidents.
