Polisport joins COTEC's Governing Bodies

The Polisport Group, world leader in the manufacture of bicycle seats for children mobility, joined the General Council of COTEC Portugal - Business Association for Innovation.

This mandate is valid for the triennium 2022/25. COTEC Portugal - Associação Empresarial para a Inovação has 331 members and its mission is to promote the increase of competitiveness of companies located in Portugal, through the development and diffusion of a culture and a practice of innovation, as well as of the knowledge resident in the country. The new board of COTEC Portugal has, since last May 12, been chaired by António Rios de Amorim, who is also Chairman of the Board of Corticeira Amorim. Polisport joined the General Board, which in the words of the Group's President, Pedro Araújo, is "the recognition of the work we do for the mobility industry. We bet on the OEM and, therefore, we maintain continuous improvement processes of production management and this is only possible to achieve, with a strong and continued bet on innovation."

The General Council of COTEC Portugal has the following functions:

  1. Approve, on the proposal of the Board, the Activity Plan and the Budget for the following financial year;
  2. To monitor and supervise the Association's activity in accordance with the general guidelines set by the General Assembly; To approve, under proposal of the Direction Board, the participation of the Association in other organisms with similar purposes, in commercial companies, in complementary groupings of companies, and in European groupings of economic interest
  3. Define and follow up the Association's short and medium term projects;
  4. To deliberate on the Board's proposal, about the acquisition, alienation, or encumbrance of patrimonial goods of a value superior to one million euros, as well as about the contracting of loans, some and others, as long as not foreseen in the approved budget.
