The General Assembly of the Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry (CONEBI) took place last 28th November, marking the election of the new Board of Directors. Among the eminent figures selected for its significant and dynamic role in the bicycle industry, Pedro Araújo, CEO and President of Polisport Group, nominated by ABIMOTA, was elected Board Director. 

CONEBI, representing the interests of the European bicycle, Pedal Assist E-bike, Parts, and accessories industries, is committed to promoting and defending the common interests of its members, with a focus on fostering the growth and development of bicycle policies and industry in Europe. 

 Pedro Araujo's selection for the CONEBI Board of Directors by ABIMOTA, the Portuguese Bicycle Association, is a recognition of Portugal's prominent role as Europe's leading bike producer, particularly known for high-tech and sustainable component manufacturing. 

As the head of Polisport, a leading company in the two-wheel industry, mobility, and family transport accessories, Pedro Araújo brings to the CONEBI Board an extensive expertise and a deep passion for cycling dating back to the establishment of Polisport Group in 1978. 

With a dedicated commitment to green and sustainable modes of family transport, Pedro Araújo is well-versed in the industry's needs and stays in tune with the market's demands through regular interactions with clients. Being the Vice President of ABIMOTA further reinforces his influential role in the industry and states:

Pedro Araújo, Vice-president of ABIMOTA, looks forward to working proactively with the newly elected Board Members: Didier Morelle from Decathlon (France), Ben Kao from Giant (Hungary), Massimino Panzeri from Atala (Italy), Bayram Akgul from Salcano (Turkey), Remco Tekstra from the Netherlands in the role of Treasurer, and Erhard Büchel from Büchel GmbH & CO (Germany) continuing in his esteemed role as President of CONEBI.The recently elected Board hosted the 2023 CONEBI Annual Conference at the European Parliament, emphasizing the political dimensions of the industrial transition and the vital role of member states in championing the European Cycling Declaration.
