Polisport e ABIMOTA presentano candidatura per l'agenda di mobilitazione per l'innovazione su due ruote da 258 milioni di euro

Yesterday took place at ABIMOTA's facilities the presentation of the application to the Mobilizing Agendas, which intends to empower and revolutionize the two-wheel sector in Portugal and Europe.


The Agenda presented is part of a global set of actions that ABIMOTA has been carrying out (such as the Portugal Bike Value project) aiming the strengthening of qualified and creative entrepreneurship in the bicycle sector, reinforcing Portugal's European leadership in the Two-Wheels sector.


The Agenda called AM2R - Mobilizing Agenda for business innovation in the Two Wheels sector - aims to consolidate and expand the connection between the companies and the regional and national scientific and technological system in order to increase the competitiveness and resilience of the two-wheel sector, culminating in the creation of Technological Interface Center for the two-wheel and smooth mobility sector. The disruptive nature of the Agenda will contribute, in a concrete way, to reinforce the technological research and development, innovation and diversification of the productive structure of products and services in this sector, with the range of new models of bicycles and electric motorbikes, new components for two-wheel vehicles, manufacturing processes, more sustainable in terms of energy consumption and carbon footprint, greater efficiency in the sector's logistics chain through the introduction of digital technologies and automation.


AM2R intend also to create and reinforce qualified and highly qualified employment, increasing the weight of the export sector and reducing dependence from external suppliers.In terms of investment, AM2R foresees a total investment of €258,056,566, with the participation of 34 business entities, 4 entities from the R&I system and a business association.


The investment is divided into 64 projects, distributed among: 24 R&D Projects, 27 Productive Investment projects, 10 Qualification & Internationalization projects and 3 Training projectsThis application will reinforce the European leadership of Portugal as a strategic player in the two-wheeled sector, and consequently boost the national economy, qualifying more and more this sector so essential for the paradigm of soft and sustainable mobility.
