A moment about a specific bike they owned that only started at the fifth attempt, a specific group of riding mates and the moments they shared or just the moment they fell in love with Off-road.
We want to hear those stories, and this time we look at Yamaha Hostettler Racing Team riders and what they have to share.
Joel Elsener #26 is a Swiss rider, and he wants to get to the top. He has a very competitive spirit and wants to be, day-after-day, a better rider. The aim is to be the best rider in the world one day. He recently signed for Yamaha Hostettler Racing Team and is now competing in the EMX250 championship. He’s riding a YZ250F, stepping up from the previous and less powerful YZ125, so the feel is completely different.
The bike is heavier but has a lot of power in it. He wouldn’t change a thing on the new bike unless is something that makes it faster! Every rider has a story to share, and Joel is no different. When he was 10 years old and he was riding a 65cc, his mom took him to the track for some quick laps. She fueled up the bike but missed to close the fuel cap properly. So, he pushed hard and hit a 20-meter tabletop, which is pretty big for a 65cc if you consider.
A couple of meters after that, he felt his pants wet. Well, you can imagine what little Joel thought was happening. Considering the length of that tabletop… Then he looked at the fuel cap, noticing that it was missing. He was completely soaked in fuel! After immediately stopping, everything started to itch badly.
Well…everywhere! He then proceeded to remove all his gear, and we believe when he says that it might have been a world record. He took every bottle of water at hand and showered himself right there.
Well, it was not that funny at the moment, but now he has a story to tell and laugh about.
Joel Elsener will be rocking Polisport plastics during 2021.
