Created in 2006, the Portuguese Bicycle
Mobility Prize intends to "publicly acknowledge the contribution of
certain entities which have promoted the use of bicycle by creating or
improving conditions and facilities in Portugal and / or dissemination of
initiatives fomenting the use of this non-motorized vehicle".
This year, Polisport was awarded in the
"Company" class, for its internationally acknowledged work in the
development of technologies and cycling accessories that make everyday cycling
easier, and for its collaboration with several national organizations to
promote the use of bicycle.
Adriana Santos, representing Polisport,
emphasized the importance of the Portuguese Federation of Cycling and Bicycle
Users work on encouraging the use of bicycle as a urban transportation and as
transportation for the future.
The ceremony was attended by the Secretary of
State for the Interior and the Councilor for Urbanism in the municipality of
Lisbon.
