Finland Training And Italian Final For Honda Xtreme Academy
Xtreme Academy trainer Brian Jorgensen will be heading over to the Kuopio track this Thursday to continue with the Academy’s training programme to help develop young riders racing nationally around Europe. The campaign, which is available to CRF150R riders competing in their domestic series in the UK, Finland, Sweden, Italy and Ireland this year, gives them access to a huge prize fund, recognition as a Honda rider, peer mentoring as well as training with Honda Pro riders.

Also this weekend is the Italian minicross final showdown where Honda CRF150R riders will be looking for more strong results to take the overall junior and senior titles. At the last round in the junior class Davide Cislaghi scored a sixth consecutive pole position and enjoyed a strong outing to head into this weekend’s final in second place.

In the senior class Honda pilot Nicholas Lumina also took pole position, but had a tough day after injuring his right leg in the opening part of the day he took ninth in race one and fifth in race two after riding for points. He is close to the championship lead of the Italian series heading into the final race of the year where the championship will be taken down to the wire.

Both riders will also be looking to continue with their form to take the Honda Xtreme Academy titles in each of their respective classes, where they will be rewarded 2011 for the series win with prizes from the Academy’s many sponsors.

Following that there’s a few weeks break before the UK wraps up its seven round series, and Sweden its five round series where the young CRF150R riders will be looking to take the second Honda Xtreme Academy championship wins to conclude the 2011 season.

“It’s an important week for the Honda Xtreme Academy,” said Honda Motor Europe Off-Road Manager, Roger Harvey.

After last week’s successful training event in the UK we’re really looking forward to going to Finland where Brian will be working with their young riders to help with their development. We enjoyed a good training event there last year so I’m sure it will be another good and useful day for the riders. We are also heading to the Italian minicross and Xtreme Academy final at the weekend. Last year riders on the Honda CRF150R won both the junior and senior titles and we are quite close this year so hopefully we can have a good weekend.
