Interbike 2011 Celebrates 30th Edition with New Events
LAS VEGAS, USA - The Interbike International Bicycle Expo and OutDoor Demo will feature many upgrades to enhance the show experience for business visitors for its 30th editions of this event. “A key change in the show format is that it will comprise two floors of the Sands Convention Center, adding 13,000 square-meters additional exhibit space compared to the 2010 show”, says Interbike Show Manager Andy Tompkins.
“The new layout will also include demo areas on each floor and an expanded Interbike Café and Urban Legend Lounge. As part of the expansion, Health+Fitness Business Expo (HFB) will be held on the same dates and will be integrated into street level exhibit space of Interbike. In 2010, HFB was already held on concurrent dates in the adjacent Venetian Ballrooms.”
This year the Interbike opening party returns to help celebrate the show’s 30th edition. The Interbike Industry Party will be held Tuesday night, September 13 at the LAVO nightclub and lounge at the Palazzo hotel. Other kick-off events are the circulus Mini-Velodrom, a 132-foot circumference, 45-degree wooden mini-Velodrom in the street level expo space and the CrossVegas, to mark the international cyclo-cross season begin.
Interbike has teamed up with the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) to provide retailers a receive special VIP viewing areas at the finish straight just outside Las Vegas at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship which will be held September 11, the Sunday before Interbike’s OutDoor Demo.
Just like last year, Interbike is partnering again with the Light Electric Vehicle Association (LEVA) to provide e-bike demo tracks both at the OutDoor Demo and indoors during the Expo. Next to that, retailers can attend Interbike for the broad range of industry education opportunities. This year Interbike is taking an active role in working with manufacturers, industry organizations, experts and advocacy groups to provide quality presentations, seminars, technical clinics and discussion panels in what’s being called “Interbike University.” Together with the Outdoor Industry Women’s Coalition (OIWC), the Women's Products lounge returns to the show floor due to the continued strength of the category.
The Interbike 2011 trade-only events begin with OutDoor Demo (September 12-13, 2011 in Boulder City, Nevada), followed by the Interbike Expo, September 14-16 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, USA.
